Touch Pad Mouse

Postby Diekan on Sat Jun 02, 2012 1:01 am

Not sure if it is a bug with Mint 13 or a Cinnamon issue - but

Running Mint 13 on an ASUS laptop. The pad mouse has a finger scroll on the right side (you can slide your finger down to scroll). It works perfectly fine with a web browser, but doesn't work at all with folders or directories.

Not a "deal breaker" but would be nice if it worked.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Can you name your laptop model? Might be a solution is know for this.

The touchpad is probably connected as a USB device. Can you open a terminal, run the following command and share the output here?
Code: Select all

ASUS G60V.

List of USB devices:

Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 006 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 007 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 008 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 064e:a116 Suyin Corp.
Bus 006 Device 002: ID 046d:c52f Logitech, Inc. Wireless Mouse M305

The last entry refers to the wireless mouse I use with the laptop (goes without saying) - that of course is not the "mouse" I am talking about.

The line:
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 064e:a116 Suyin Corp.

Refers to your webcam. The other lines note unused USB hubs. So, perhaps the touch pad is a PCI connected device. Can you share the output of command:
Code: Select all
