It is ridiculous that you have enter your password after resuming from suspend and hibernation even though you selected automatic log-on in the Administration preferences. To remedy this annoyance you have to take a more ridiculous series of steps:
- open terminal
- type: sudo gconf-editor
- navigate to /apps/gnome-power-manager/locks
- disable lock_on_hibernate
- disable lock_on_suspend
Does this seem to be the correct process to turn off password protection after you resume? What average Linux user even knows these steps? Not to mention a newbie, who will be scared off by such esoteric instructions. Would it not be possible to add a couple of check boxes for the suspend and hibernate password locks in Mint Assistant?

I'm currently giving it a shot. When I am finished, I'll post it.

Re: Mint Assistant Suggestion
It's much more difficult than one would think. By adding the hibernate and sleep, I broke a bunch of other things
Re: Mint Assistant Suggestion
Any progress with this idea? Can I help by testing it out?
