Looking at the release notes for Olivia, I LOVE the idea of leaving away messages in Cinnamon on lock screen. However, can something like that preconfiguration be set up for MATE? Also, it's a bit annoying to have the screen only be able to lock with the screensaver in MATE - I'd like to be able to set that myself, and not just when I'm away from the computer for a set amount of time.
I think these two additions for MATE would go a long way.

MATE is not developed by Linux Mint, though Clem has a role in the MATE team also. Perhaps it would be good to suggest this to the MATE developers? http://mate-desktop.org/
