Just my personal opinion,
when logging onto Mint the beep that sounds before logging on I think sounds like a rude beep
I don't like it.
It sounds like a sound you get when you've done something wrong (a la Windows days - an often occurrence)
Once you've logged on you then have a pleasing sound
I like that.
Perhaps two of these instead the first low, the second in a higher octave?
Any chance of future developments to remove negative sounding noise
and to replace it with a nice sound, some nice minty sound effect noise?
As it's the first thing you come into contact with your experience when logging on
it just sounds so rude and negative, certainly against the 'from freedom came elegance' stance
in my personal opinion...

Re: User Name Entry
I don't see the user name connection....
This is partly a hardware problem - I think you get a beep from the system speaker that's annoying .....

Re: User Name Entry
I meant the beep when the user name entry window pops up
beep
you enter your user name
you enter your password
chime
the desktop loads
not the bios beep at the very start when the bios posts,
that is the hardware and is regardless of the OS,
(although that is still an annoying negative beep as well)
