longlivethebestos,
So heres a sugestion make a package manager both, one really good and second user freindly!
You mean one really good and second Windows user friendly, don't you? After all, if you can read and write, what could be simpler than:

sudo aptitude install firefox kate gedit

You don't have to find the program GUI, open it, search through a couple thousand programs, click the right boxes, click the apply button, and ok the installations.

GUIs have their place but so does the CLI. If you cut yourself off from a feature because it doesn't have a nice shiny GUI, you will be missing a big part of the power and simplicity of Linux.

You should try to recognize that wanting or expecting a GUI for everything is your short coming not Linux's. GUIs are not by definition more user friendly than the command line.

Just a thought.

:!: :!: :!: +1!

And also, we have to be careful. The famous beautiful GUIs bring often/ sometimes also beautiful bugs with them...

I agree with Fred. It is important to learn the CLI, it can save you a lot of headaches when things go wrong. This command has saved my system many times, "apt-get remove". A shiny gui has it's place but the CLI always saves the day!
