Would like my Logitech mouse buttons to work

Hello,
I love Mint and how fast it is changing. So much so that it is now distro 1a for me right behind PCLinuxOS (and may soon overtake it). However one thing that Mint does not do and PCLinuxOS does, is allow me to use the navigation buttons on my MX518 right out of the box. This is a feature that is very useful to me and to anyone else who has these types of Logitech mice, so I think this feature would really be appreciated by a large number of people. Hope you can add this small feature in the future.

Thank you

I also have a mouse with a lot of buttons and it's been a bit of a hassle to get it work (go to http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu:Feis ... in_FireFox to learn how). And one thing I still didn't figure out is the wheel tilt right/left to scroll things in the browser sideways.

It would be lovely if there was some kind of a gui app to fix.

That would be an awesome feature! But please, not only for Logitech :-)

I'd like to add a similar feature request: Until now, I haven't found a way to use the extra mouse buttons for Nautilus like it works in a browser. that would be really nice.
