Winmodem drivers included

Postby Vinicius on Sat Oct 13, 2007 4:55 pm

I´ve installed Linux Mint recently and it´s almost perfect. It´s clean, simple and fast. But it hasn´t direct support for my softmodem (Smartlink) from cd.
As I am not an experient linuxer, I tried to install it manually and didn´t make any progress. After five seconds of conection the modem stops and disconnect.
I suggest you to put the drivers for softmodems with a script of installation (like those present on Kurumin Linux), so the begginers, like me, would install them easily. Since Mint´s purpose is to provide the best desktop out of the box, it should be nice to have native support for softmodems.
Thank you. (Sorry about my english)

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Thanks poision
My problem was with the Init2 string. I used a script called MESSIAS and now my modem works fine.
