mint on arm?

there are only five active arm based distros listed on distrowatch* the most beginner friendly of which is probably Debian
(it also should list Ubuntu but i don't think thats ready**)
it is important that we have a beginner friendly arm based distro as windows 8 will run on it*** and (according to rumors) so will future apple laptops****
most tablets use arm also
i believe basing it on lmde is the way to go as (again) Ubuntu doesn't seem ready yet**
