2 months for testing LMDE packages

Postby livram79 on Fri Aug 19, 2011 9:02 am

Thank you Linux Mint Team for offering us a more stable version of Debian Testing through Latest Repository.
I suggest you increase the period of package testing from 1 month to 2 months so that you can make the packages more stable (fix more bugs).
Anyway, I think Linux Mint based on Debian Stable is the best linux distro for enterprise. It just needs commercial support.
Best wishes to Linux Mint Team.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

If you want that stable of a system, just modify your sources.list to point to squeeze rather than testing. A number of LMDE users are actually running LMDE stable.

I am already using Linux Mint with Debian Squeeze but it seems to me that the packages from Mint repository are less and less compatible with those from Debian Squeeze repos because they are based on Testing. I have problems right now with Firefox 5 which came from Mint repo not from Debian Squeeze.
