Songbird 1.1.1 Build 1018 packages for i686 and amd64

Postby piratesmack on Fri Mar 13, 2009 6:26 pm

i686 (For Linux Mint 32 Bit):
http://files.filefront.com/Songbird+111 ... einfo.html

amd64 (For Linux Mint x64 edition):
http://files.filefront.com/Songbird+111 ... einfo.html

These are repackagings of the official binary tarballs.
Everything this application needs to run is built statically into it, so there aren't any dependencies that aren't satisfied by a normal installation of Linux Mint.

Darn when did this come out.
I have the 1.0.0 package created for both Elyssa and Felicia.
The Packages are in the repo and will automatically add the plugins for the browser.(example: Flash for youtube)
Guess I'll have to find the source for this one now.

It came out a few days ago.
I noticed there was already an older version in the repository, but there didn't seem to be a 64-Bit package (At least not the last time I checked.)

And the packages above check in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins, so installing flash for Songbird isn't needed.

Well got the new source and I'm compiling it for the repo.
The reason there isn't a 64bit version is because I don't have a 64bit cpu to compile it.
You can download the source to the package and create one.
Just install devscripts and run
Code: Select all
debuild -us -uc
It'll tell you the dependencies for compiling.
Once the dependencies are installed run the command again to compile.

Ok I think I got all the patches for Felicia.
Later today the Felicia should have a package in the Community repo.
Looks like Clem made an amd64 package of the last songbird. :)
I have to look into fixing somethings in the Elyssa package.
I had some problems but have gotten almost all fixed.

Would you mind if I built an amd64 version of your package?

Make sure to have the .changes and .deb for download and I'll see if it'll add to the repo.

OK, here is the .deb and .changes file:
http://files.filefront.com/deb+and+chan ... einfo.html

I was unsure who to put for the maintainer. This is pretty much your package rebuilt for amd64 and I didn't want to take credit for your work.

So I left your name and added this to the changelog:
Code: Select all
songbird (1.1.1-0mint1) felicia; urgency=low

  * rebuilt merlwiz79's package for amd64

If there is anything wrong with the package, let me know and I will fix it. :)

Thanks for this.....

I wonder if songbird is at the level to possibly be the main music player for mint....I find it by far the best non kde option out there....(nothing against kde apps...just don't want to use to many.)
