I compiled latest homebank 4.0.2 and my question is now...
For Community Repository, ...
If a getdeb .deb file already exist, how to "link to install" it. Did the .mint files do the job?
Should I anyway checkinstall homebank 4.0.2 for community or will the getdeb debs be used?
Whats preferred?

You don't use checkinstall for distributing debian packages.
