OpenTyrian should be in the repositories. It's a spectacular side-scrolling shooter. I know PlayDeb has it but I had a bit of a hard time getting it up in Mint.

Is there a way we can help and package software ourselves and add it to the repositories (as long as it isn't too overly complicated)? (I'm new to repositories and sutff.)

I would suppose to add the Free Basic Compiler to the repository. This is a nice modern compiler I usually use for programming. A Debian-Package has already been created by the developers, witch can be found under http://www.freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17813. I've tested it successfully under Julia 32bit.

Ubuntu and its derivatives have "system-config-samba" available in their software repos, but as far as I know, it's not availabe in Debian, which is a shame since that program makes it easy to share folders and files on a network. It'd be cool if someone would repackage it or suggest another equally capable alternative

What about Abandonware games? Could some of them be packaged and added to the nonfree repositories, or would it create licensing issues?

Should have gimp paint studio in the repos.
http://code.google.com/p/gps-gimp-paint-studio/
including the manual.
There are a lot of gimp stuff in the repos but not this one or gurm. Although you have to do some work to gurm to get it going. but GPS should be in there.

http://trac.qutecom.org/ - QUTECOM - A program not dissimilar to Skype, with the added bonus that it's free, Open Source AND Video Conference Calling IS FREE, unlike in Skype, where you have to pay for these priviledges! It's available on their site for Windows, Mac, (.exe, .dmg, as a .rpm for Linux, and as the source file - .tar.gz for linux).

Hi
I developed a scientific graphic calculator. I would like to see it in mint repo if that's possible. Here's the link to the code https://gitorious.org/math-graphica and the website http://soft-ingenium.planetaclix.pt/
Thank you

Marcel, this topic was for older releases of Linux Mint. Notice the year on the comment above yours; 2011... No sense replying here.
