getting a package in the repository

Postby kinkerl on Thu Feb 04, 2010 12:43 pm

Hello

i am developing a little software called persy (https://launchpad.net/persy) in my spare time. its getting better and nicer (of course *cough*). i think in the near future it is ready for a wider audience.
back in the good old "linux mint 7" days, i wrote some code for mintupload and this gave me the idea to develop persy. so for me, persy is tied to linux mint in a way.

long story short: i would like to get a package in the community repository for linux mint and maintain it.

can you give me some information what i need and what the requirements are?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Hey kinkerl, the community repo section has in fact been discontinued (as of Helena I believe), as you can see at http://packages.linuxmint.com You may or may not know that it's now easy to add ppas (also as of Karmic), so installation instructions can simply include entering "ppa:tmassassin/ppa" in the apt sources app, or
Code: Select all
add-apt-repository ppa:tmassassin/ppa

EDIT: this is also in a sticky for this forum
If you have a question that has been answered and solved, then please edit your original post and put a [SOLVED] at the end of your subject header
Hint - use a google search including the search term site:forums.linuxmint.com
