Open a terminal, go to the folder you are trying to backup (if you want your entire home folder, you are already there). Then run this command to search for named pipes:
Code: Select all
find . -type p

Does it return any files? mintBackup can not deal with named pipes, see this bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/846262

Workaround: Exclude all the files found with above command from your backup.

This is helpful. I did this to find the offending files. There is still a problem though.
Named pipes files I found are in .lastpass which is a hidden directory. I do not see a way to make the mintbackup gui show the hidden directories so I can exclude them. Same thing with exclude files option-hidden directories are not shown in the gui.

Just click exclude directories, right click in the file area and choose "Show Hidden Files"

Thank you, Konstigt. That worked fine just excluding the .lastpass directory. I guess I just missed that setting the first time. Backup worked just fine.
