Where can I read about how the backup tool works exactly?

Hi,

I am new to Mint and I tried the backup tool for the first time. Where can I get some details about how it works exactly? Does it do incremental backups? Does it check checksums before deciding to upgrade/replace file? Or does it use filenames only? What happens if a directory structure changes or files are renamed? etc.

thanks, I saw that already, but does only address the how to make a first backup. it does not say how subsequent backups are handled.
