Why is Backup Tool backup/restore count so off.

Hello,

I upgraded Mint 11 --> 12 last night: I backed up my home folder to a recycled 40GB Notebook drive/USB kit. This morning I Restored my home folder, the Backup file count was 19354 and the restore file count was about 37000 +/- a few hundred. Why was the count so off?

Also I would like to see an approximate time estimate display feature added.
