Mintupdate broken: No module named cairo

Postby Davecov on Tue May 29, 2012 4:23 am

Cairo is in /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/

Code: Select all
Murray dist-packages # mintupdate
Murray dist-packages # No module named cairo
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/linuxmint/mintUpdate/mintUpdate.py", line 59, in <module>
    gettext.install("mintupdate", "/usr/share/linuxmint/locale")
NameError: name 'gettext' is not defined

Obviously cairo isn't where mintupdate is expecting to find it...

[Edit] your original post and add [SOLVED] once your question is resolved.

“The people are my God” stressing the factor determining man’s destiny lies within man not in anything outside man, and thereby defining man as the dominator and remoulder of the world.

Thanks for the patronising post.

I have indeed searched these forums using various search phrases with the word "cairo" but haven't seen anything that looks like it would solve my problem.
