jkw,
and that is all the output of inxi -Sr?
if so, no wonder you can't fetch a lot of stuff, you need the precise entries in there as well.
if they are not there, add this

In what file should I add the ones you listed? sources.list?
The weird thing is I've seen a lot of users have had the similar issue without even doing anything to their repository. Which is weird.
Only thing I've added is wine and gimp due to original repository being too slow on the updates.

your sources.list looks fine as-is but there's a mismatch with the reading inxi gave us previously. without altering that file can you post the output of

yes please, because there's something that doesn't match :shock:

inxi -r (should show all the active repos doesn't pick the ubuntu entries) but cat shows that they are in sources.list, confusing.

so, can you give us the (full) output of

Misslyckades med att hämta = Failed to fetch.
Kunde inte ansluta = Could not connect.
Några indexfiler gick inte att hämta. De kommer att ignoreras eller så används de gamla istället. = It wasn't possible to download some indexfiles. They will be ignored or older will be used instead.

well you have there one first issue (already identified) with packages.linuxmint (the server has been down today)

but that is not what is annoying me

i can't make heads&tails of the discrepancies between the cat and inxi readings and now the update output clearly shows that you are not "hitting" the ubuntu repos (not even with Misslyckades med att hämta :mrgreen:

)

let's go to the basics

yeahh i saw that output (cat), i was asking now for the gedit one (it shouldn't make any difference to be honest, but it's just to double-check)
because all this is a bit strange (as far as i can see)

I got the same problem, mint update manager give an error whit medibuntu.
