Does find (crtl+f) not work in MintUpdate?

I decided to update, as I haven't done so in several months. I don't want firefox updating as I don't want to loose my plugins, so I "crtl+f" to search for firefox, and the box comes up. However pressing enter or the arrow keys does nothing. Does find not work?
