Uninstalling updates

Postby Xena on Wed Apr 15, 2009 12:43 pm

Ok, so I didn't really understand the levels of updates. So when MintUpdate offered to update my Mint-Felicia installation, I happily clicked "OK" and it downloaded ... as I recall ... over 100 packages and installed them.

Now ... NOW ... I see that I shouldn't have let it do Level 3 updates. (This whole Linux thing is taking some getting used to.)

So, is it possible to uninstall the Level 3 updates through MintInstall or another means?

Should I just reinstall the whole distro to be sure I didn't stupidly allow something bad to be d/l'ed?

I appreciate any insight you can offer.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Have you had problems since you installed the level three updates? If not I would just leave them in. As Husse's sig says "don't fix it if it ain't broke"

Most errors caused by updates will show up quickly. If you have been running for two or three days since you updated and have not had any problems, it is most likely safe to leave the level three updates in place.
