Mint update - I am confused... (SOLVED)

Postby tenfoot on Thu Sep 22, 2011 6:33 pm

Please bear with me in this naive question. Does the update manager interrogate my computer and offer updates for only those applications/files etc which I already have installed on my system? I ask this questions, because I always remove Mono , Thunderbird and other applications I do not use and install others, like gLabels, gNote, Osmo which I cannot do without.

I hope not

To answer your question: the update manager will provide updates for all currently installed packages - with the exception of packages not within the "Level" of updates you have chosen to accept. There are level 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 updates. I think the default settings are levels 1, 2, and 3
