I just know I haven't had a crash on Karmic + Mint 7.

BTW... I used SID for about 5 years, so I'm used to living on the edge ;)

I had similar issues which turned out to be hardware.

Had the exact same problem(s)...until I installed the kernel back-ports. Fixed everything.
