If you are afraid, use http://www.getautomatix.com follow the normal repo instructions for apt. then

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install automatix2bleeder

I know I should not recommend you to do something that risks a total freeze, but if you start beryl again as you did when it froze - see if you can restart x with ctrl+alt+backspace
If so I'm pretty sure you don't have the right driver....
Then install the latest envy follow the instructions in
http://www.linuxmint.com/planet/Alberto ... _available
and install the driver again (automatically I think)

oh well, i finally got it going. compiz is actually installed by default whew! this is really though for linux noobs but the experience that I gain through this is worthy. I even created a website that will cater my personal experiences with linux mint. it's still under development. im just hoping that other users who came from windows will be able to see how easy it was to shift to linux mint. thanks a lot guys for developing linux mint. You rock!

I have the new Daryna and my question is: How do I enable the end caps etc in Compiz/Beryl. There is not a Beryl manager in the menu.
I haven't had time to play around much, but I'm assuming I'll have to do this through the "configuration editor", or can I just install the Beryl manager via synaptic?
Thanks in advance
