First I tested , in a terminal
- Code: Select all
sudo pm-hibernate
The laptop seemed to struggle trying to get out of hibernation; sometimes a black screen, sometimes the desktop would return, but frozen, sometimes the screen would flicker to black and the a desktopscreen again … I thought I might try the proprietary driver.
First I installed ATI's propriatary graphic card driver
in a terminal:
- Code: Select all
sudo jockey-kde
Then the command in a terminal
- Code: Select all
sudo pm-hibernate
would hibernate the computer and it would come out of hibernation with no trouble
I cannot get to work suspend to RAM ... anyone any idea?
I got the button 'hibernate' in the start menu by doing what someone said in the link below:
http://maketecheasier.com/enable-hibernate-in-ubuntu-12-04/2012/05/01
Hope this is of some use to anyone else ...
