Install Automatix2 in 1 easy step for Bianca/Bea

Postby mumbo719 on Mon Feb 26, 2007 9:29 am

Easy Direct Installation

Download this file to your desktop.

http://www.getautomatix.com/apt/dists/edgy/main/binary-i386/automatix2_1.1-2.15-6.10edgy_i386.deb

If the package does not automatically install using gdebi double click on the downloaded file to install it with gdebi or KDE's package installer.

Go to Mint Menu>System Tools and open Automatix2

Running Automatix2 for the first time will automatically add the Automatix repositories and keys for all future updates.

Not all of it. They add additional repos and you get some new stuff. Check it out when their site comes back up.

and it's practical to have the frequently installed programs available for installation after a fresh os install, all in one place instead of searching synaptic for one by one (and forgetting some of course..)..

I really like automatix, and it's a great thing that it's mint-compatible

Automatix is back up with this explanation.

On March 7, 2007, our website was attacked by a malicious individual who used a PHP vulnerability in our forum to delete our entire website. We are currently working hard to restore the forum. The wiki, repo and keys have been restored already, so you can install and use Automatix.

My personal favourite (apart from codecs) is the Nautilus Scripts.

oooohhh 8)

Must have been a disgruntled network admin that had some difficulties Installing Exchange 2007 on a 2-node cluster since he has just applied SP2 to Windows Server Enterprise x64 R2...
