I've used it on my desktop system and its definitely a kick ass script. Only bad part is if you need a legacy driver installation, you have to go manual.

I have installed Beryl using this script and all installed OK with no errors and I did all the reboots required. Now what?

Its not working for me as to be honest, I don't know how to configure it. I read their wiki, but to be honest I do not get to grasp it at all. (I must be going senile, or something)

Is there a step-by-step configuration guide available somewhere just to get dumb people like me started?

All help greatly appreciated!

I installed Beryl on a HP Compaq nc6000 by using this link from their Wiki page.

This laptop uses an ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 graphics card.

here are some nice links for ya
(debian/ubuntu/mint + ati card + xgl + beryl)

fglrx driver: http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu ... tion_Guide

all in all in very simple way: http://lhansen.blogspot.com/2006/10/3d- ... -edgy.html
(i recommend to install the fglrx driver manually)

and if it's not working so far, try them:

XGL: http://wiki.xglusers.de/index.php/Xgl_Installation

Beryl: http://wiki.beryl-project.org/index.php ... u/Edgy/XGL

It worked like a charm for me, thanks.
dbo, there isn't no script, really. Just copy & paste the commands.

Cheers
Sorry, but that's the way it is.

Ah, I see. It's a guide then. A bit misleading subject there
