How to Disable/Enable CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE

Post by Rybanez470 »

In Mint 15 Mate, The Keyboard Preferences Layout Options setting does not seem to work properly so I wanted to post a suitable solution for this issue.

Open Terminal, and type:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration

You will prompted on the last page of the setup screen to enable or disable this setting.
Simple and effective, hope it helps someone who is not a Linux enthusiast work more comfortably on such a great operating system.

Thanks. I can confirm that this still works on Linux Mint 17.3. Surely, this configuration is going to be written to some text configuration file(s), and I wonder where that is.

Thanks!, Still works in Mint 19.1 Cinnamon

This really should be enabled by default it is better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it!
