As for "HowTo's" in general, you can just as well open a new thread in a forum sub-section and just write away. Many of us here do that all the time

The Community Portal is yours to modify. Don't hesitate to structure it and create a start page over there, with links to your tutorials. It's not there to talk or ask for help, it's there for you to use it as a reference.

For instance, you can modify the community portal page and make it point to sub-sections (pages that you create in the wiki) and have these sub-sections point to tutorials (wiki pages that you create to put your tutorials).

Well, enough said. It's your community portal after all

One thought though ... would it be possible to make some posts "sticky" in some forums? I think some of the how to's I linked to up there are really good and should be made "sticky" so they always remain on top ...

Rather than just make a few Howto's sticky, rather add sub sections in the HowTo Forum for examble: Networking, Desktop Eye Candy, Hardware etc. and re-sort all the different HowTos accordingly.

If it is possible on these forums, the "ranking" or position from the top down of these "stickys" could be determined by a rating or vote option given on the effectiveness/helpfulness of the particular HowTo. After a while when a pattern emerges the best/most frequent used HowTos could all be complied in one and placed on the Wiki.

Something like "The Mint Idiots/Genius Guide to Mint"

Yepp I saw that above, but there is no link on the homepage. There has been added Linux Mint support Centre but that does not link to a wiki

Note that there is a Navigation window on the left Husse. You can go to different pages from there.

The link to the wiki is on the top right of the homepage, just beside the link to the forum.

I suspect the navigation panel npap mentions is the one on the wiki, because I don't see any either on the homepage :wink:

A link to the Wikimint was added to the Home page recently.

Hello mfab,
The Wikimint is more or less like a quick reference to news, articles and how to's etc. And it's not for posting requests for help and other general stuff.
It won't replace the forum.
