First I would run it again; give your sudo user password for maintenance (ctrl+D on boot)
--let it check the filesystem(s) and attempt a mount

How far does that process get: does it for example fix the filesystem damage or problem..

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions ... 175460401/
--you could also try a boot from your CD(iso file: lice CD distrubution for Mint)
--run fsck to the drive/partition that is failling to mount (possibly because of errors)

fsck checking..
http://www.cyberhttp://www.kernelhardwa ... -sequence/
http://whttp://www.thegeekstuff.com/201 ... -examples/

And if you really have a problem
--testdisk may be an option

  • Also make sure your OS + apps are upto date..
