Different iconset for mintUpdate

Postby sourwire on Tue Nov 11, 2008 8:46 pm

Hey everyone, I don't know about you guys, but the default icon set for mintUpdate doesn't really make sense to me. I mean, what do padlocks have to do with updates, right?
So after some time of working with Gimp, I came up with alternative icons based on Mint logo.
Grab it here: http://gneek.narod.ru/mintUpdateIconset.tar
After downloading the package, untar it somewhere and change mintUpdate's preferences (Icons tab).

Enjoy,
gneek

Oh, and in case you want to see what they look like before you decide whether to download or not, behold.

Hi,

I'm new to Linux Mint, switching from Ubuntu. I love it, it's great. But I agree with this post, I really don't get why this logo should be a padlock :). I'll certainly give your alternative logos a try, although I haven't seen them yet.

Anyway, I just wanted to confirm that I think a new/different logo would be nice ;).

Take care
