hey everyone look im having a big problem with linux mint 4.0 in that there isnt a registered driver for my nVidia GeForce 8600 graphics card. nevertheless, i want to remove it. i just cant figure out how to get rid of it. i have a home built PC with a Pheonix BiOS system. I tried formatting my slave drive, which its on, but then i cant boot any other OS's because it says "GRUB error 17". how can i get rid of the OS and the grub boot sector??? please help :(
btw is there like a sudo apt remove linuxmint or something like that in terminal?

if your other OS is windows xp - you need to fix masterboot record.

insert winxp cd and reboot.

choose "repair" and enter fixmbr -> yes
and then fixboot -> yes
