Question re "Run Linux Mint without saving" boot option

Postby clearly on Sat Nov 07, 2009 1:27 pm

Hi,

I have set up Linux Mint on a USB flash drive (using Gloria Main edition), following the steps outlined at http://www.pendrivelinux.com/usb-linux-mint-7-flash-drive-creation-windows/.

I can successfully boot using the "Run Linux Mint Persistently" option and have my changes saved for reuse if I boot using the same option again.

What I would like to do is also be able to boot using the "Run Linux Mint without saving" option and have it access the last state achieved using the "Run Linux Mint Persistently" option. Is this possible?

I realise that the "without saving" option will not retain any changes I may make during a session. But it is the starting environment of the session that I am interested in. At the moment, using the "without saving" option I get the default, initial state of Linux Mint with none of the changes I had applied when booted in persistent mode.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.
