Postby davidkwill on Mon May 07, 2012 8:45 pm

ok not sure if this has been posted but can't figure this out. I installed mint 12 with 4 partitions in this order. boot, /, home and swap. when i restart after installation i get a black screen that does nothing i hit reset and then the grub menu comes on. i hit enter to boot linux mint 12 then a cursor flashes for a bit then i get this text busybox v1.18.4 built-in shell initramsfs. type help for list of commands. if i type exit then it boots up to login screen. this happens every other time i try to boot mint 12 . the other time i try to boot it it just gives me a black screen. please help. never had these problems with other linux distros

Maybe you can try remove the "quiet splash" on the boot menu (hit the TAB key) to see the boot process (so you will know if any error occur)
