Equivalent of "apt-get install kde-full" for GNOME?

Postby digi123us on Tue May 08, 2012 8:54 pm

I prefer KDE, but I don't like to wait the extra couple of months for the KDE-specific distro to be released. In the past, I downloaded the main GNOME version and then did "sudo apt-get install kde-full", which gave me a great KDE system. Is there something to install all of GNOME on a KDE-specific distro? Something like "install gnome-full". I've searched for this but didn't find much help. I would also like to do the same thing for MATE and Cinnamon, or any other desktop. I like to switch between them to find out how they are coming along. I don't want to use synaptic or something like it and have to manually choose all of the packages because I don't want to miss any.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

The Gnome package is "mint-meta-gnome".

The command would be

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install mint-meta-gnome
