Linux Mint 12 fails to go to the Live DVD.

Postby shelcod on Tue May 08, 2012 8:32 pm

I am using a Toshiba Satellite C640 laptop with the following specs:

- AMD Radeon HD 6310 graphics card
- Dual Core AMD E-350 processor @ 1.6 GHz
- 6 GB of RAM
- I am currently running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit edition.

So once in the past I installed Linux Mint 12. But it would constantly freeze after about 5-10 seconds of it starting up so I uninstalled it. Now when I try to reinstall it, it freezes on a screen with the last thing it says is: "[*] PulseAudio configured for per-user sessions saned disabled; edit /etc/default/saned)" and it never continues. Because of this I never get to the live DVD and never get the chance to install it.

Another thing that might be worth noting is that when I start the install the screen stays black for about a minute and then some white text pops up that says "waiting for network configuration" and it usually never passes this screen unless I press escape. Sometimes if I leave it I hear my disc tray stop after a bit and it won't let me hit escape to get to the next screen. Could this be apart of my problem? I find this weird because I managed to install before except it would freeze.

Here is a video showing the freezing before I uninstalled it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8fZyRwY ... ture=g-upl

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

It sounds like your dvd or cd with the install may be corrupted

and

either you need to blank the dvd or cd and burn a fresh iso

Or get an new dvd or cd and burn a fresh iso

Hope that helps.

I don't think that this could be the problem as I tried installing it with multiple ISO's on many different DVD's. Is it possible that I could download it 3 times and it would be corrupt each time?

Linux Mint 12 never gets to the LiveCD

Postby shelcod on Sat May 12, 2012 7:31 pm

At one point I had Linux Mint 12 installed on the same computer but decided to remove it. Now I want it back but whenever I try to install it, it stops with the last like saying "[*] PulseAudio configured for per-user sessions saned disabled; edit /etc/default/saned)" and the "[*]" is in orange text.

I find this weird as I have succesfully installed Linux Mint 12 in the past and now it gives me this error.
