Mint 13 will not install.

Im having troubles installing Mint 13 Mate 64.

First it was my broadcom stopping the boot, so i added

b43.Disable=1

to the grub boot line, and now i can boot into Maya (im using live cd 64 bit version now). Bu when i go to insall it, it asks for language, i select english, then it tells me im ok for space, internet connection, and plugged in. I hit ok, then it drops out to some system prompt text, but the mouse will still move around, and nothing more happens.

I then tried the safe mofe, disabling broadcom again, then it gets an error saying X is not configured in a blue screen, and drops out to a bash shell, and thats it.

Im installing it on a older Compaq R4000 laptop, up to mint 11 installed fine, just needed tinkering for the broadcom wifi to work. I skipped mint 12 because i wasent crazy over it (im looking forward to mate).

But now with 13 being a LTS release,this will be the last install this laptop sees i think, and it will keep current for years to come.

Any help would be great.

Still same issue with release. Anyone got a broadcom wifi to work? I have found a couple ubuntu 12.04 posts on it, but they have not helped.

Thanks Gutknecht, that got my WIFI up and running.

However it still crashes on the install after it tells me im ok for space, internet connection, and plugged in.

I installed in safe mode, but when i boot it after installing, it says x is not configured.

Arghhh any ideas?
