Re-Installing Mint, Again.

After I had to re-install Mint a second time I waited until all the updates were done and I had my printer installed and then I made a backup cd with the AptoneCD program. I've got that CD handy.

Now I've screwed my system up pretty good and would like to know how to re-install Mint using that backup CD so I can skip the one hundred plus updates, etc.

Do I first install from the original ISO image and then use the AptoneCD to update? Or do I re-install from the Aptone CD?

I have not used Apton but if you google Aptoncd you will find the user manual. I have today used remastersys to backup my system and this produces a live cd of your system on which there is an install icon on the desktop. Full instructions can be found this forum.

Install Mint regularly, install aptoncd packages after. ALl aptoncd contains are downloaded packages, it saves you from re-downloading via internet.

Could you tell me the procedure to update the packages from the cd, instead of letting the update utility download them?
