Problems with live CD during startup

Postby Ifflejink on Wed Mar 12, 2008 11:19 pm

A friend of mine just got a Gateway MT6728 with Vista, and when he tries to start the live cd, he keeps getting a message that says "Buffer read error I/O" followed by a lot of seemingly meaningless numbers. Can anyone help out with this?

What cd? Do you mean a Mint 4 iso live cd?

How did you burn the cd? It should have been burned s-l-o-w, 4X, and as an iso, not a data cd. You should have checked the md5 sum with the one on the web site download page to make sure it burned correctly.

Democracy is 2 wolves and a lamb voting on the menu. Liberty is an armed lamb protesting the electoral outcome. A Republic negates the need for an armed protest.
