Can I install B43 driver and install firmware in {solved]

I can only get into the recovery mode on my laptp with LM 13 Cinnamon. I installed the updated driver with the "Additional Drivers" software. Now can I install the b43 arguement and Firmware in Recovery mode also? My wireless connecton is showing connected.
