cinnamon desktop error

I have a problem with look and feel of cinamon dekstop. Look atr attached picture.
Thank you for any help.
Reinstallation did not help.

could you give us a little more information on your machine.
video card for one thing
model cpu etc.

catalyst 11.4 fglrx driver works properly (except video hardware support).

The desktop in the screenshot is not Cinnamon but Gnome Classic, which means your graphics card/driver isn't supported by Cinnamon. Try to add restricted proprietary drivers if you haven't.

I mentioned and from glxinfo it is visible that I have catalyst 12.4 (mistyped version in previous post) version installed - (I am pretty sure that it is correctly installed.)
In virtualbox it looks nice
