Repository server problems after upgrade mint 12 - 13

Hi all
Tried an upgrade from 12 - 13 this did not work.
So no problem downloaded mint 13 iso onto dvd new install.
All works initially, even shows update for firefox & thunderbird, reload my fav software, but after that all updates freeze stall.
Update manager set to main server as usual, at present stuck on 25 of 62 update shows failed on all url's
Any ideas!

Edit /etc/apt/sources.list and run update after that.

Do you have a proxy server setup on localhost:4001? If not remove the proxy setting.

Been on forums trying various fix's no luck yet. Have direct network no proxy. Tried again after full backup with clean install as before on first boot up update manager shows blue icon. Action that new mint update available, download this, prog closes, opens instantly with number of updates firefox thunderbird libre office etc.
System working at this point, but after this update back to the "failed to fetch situ.
Is the mint update the issue?
Apart from this Mint works fine email browser rss etc.
Should add apt-get synaptic all show same failed to fetch prob so no software additions
Still looking.
