Live CD boot weirdness

Postby Gavmint on Sun Mar 23, 2008 5:25 am

Hello all, this my first post. I currently have a xp/ubuntu dual boot set up and am very interested in Linux Mint. I dled the iso, checked the md5sum, and burned it slowly. When I boot up I don't even get past the first screen. At the top of the screen it says 'iso linux: disk error 01, ax = 4280, drive 73' and there is a window with 'I/0 Error, error reading boot CD, reboot'.
Does anyone know what's wrong?

This very much seems like a bad CD/DVD.....

Which edition are you using? It might just be your cd drive acting up a bit..

I'm using 4.0 and have tried with both cd drives.

I saw something like your experience - worked on another PC.
Which CD player?
