LXDE panels not showing in liveboot

Postby chris.sound on Wed Aug 08, 2012 3:13 pm

Hello everyone.

I'm trying to install Linux mint 12 lxde on a oldish pc.
1.6 Ghz Pentium 4, Nvidia Geforce2 MX/MX400, Gigabyte SIS645 (according to cpu-z) and an ethernet internet connection.

The first time I booted into Linux mint, I got into the command prompt strangely. The second time I got into the 'desktop/GUI interface' (strange?) but it's missing the panels, and it wasn't opening any windows by clicking on the desktop icons.

Any ideas as to what I can try?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Bump.

I think I may have made a mistake I can open the file manager when double clicking on the computer shortcut/icon. However it doesn't seem to be showing anything when double clicking on the 'install linux mint' shortcut/icon.
