Changing the order of Grub

Postby lord0fpie on Tue Apr 08, 2008 8:46 pm

I want the computer to default boot into Windows XP, because it is my primary OS while I am testing out LM. How do I change the order, and make it default boot into XP?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

You need to edit your /boot/grub/menu.lst file. You will find a line in that file like this:

default 0

Change that line to:

default 4

If you only have Windows and Mint installed that should do it. Save and exit.

Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and each time expecting a different result.

Democracy is 2 wolves and a lamb voting on the menu. Liberty is an armed lamb protesting the electoral outcome. A Republic negates the need for an armed protest.
