Runs from live cd but won't install

On an old pc (500 MHz Celeron with 320 MB RAM), Daryna runs fine as a live distro from the cd, but when I try to install it to the 8 GB hard disk it hangs at 90% on detecting hardware.
8GB HD should be enough for an install (manual says 3GB minimum).
And - if it won't install because it can't detect the hardware, why does it run ok from a live distro cd ?

That's an ordinary old computer - nothing particular that I see
Is it when "detecting hardware" it hangs, not when "installing language packs"?

Yes, it's definitely on the hardware detection - at least that's the message that it stuck on !

Note on compatibility: A compatibility mode was added as a new boot entry, featuring nosplash, noapic, noacpi and irqpoll.

When you boot the live CD to install press F6 when you first see the splash and add theese options
This could do it
I have a feeling it is the SIS video that is the culprit
