Hello everybody,

I created a live-usb (LM14RC) with unetbootin / usb-creator.

But I can't even reach the bootmenu (while booting from USB-Stick).

The PC just freeze with blinking cursor after first status checks of bios and
don't moves on to bootmenu of live-usb.

When I tried to install LM13, the same happend a few months ago.

But I forgot where I read it, or which forum it was, where I found a solution for this problem.

Only remember, changing some lines of a file (maybe ISOLinux.cfg or Syslinux.cfg) on USB-Stick to get it work !?

Is there someone to help me to remember??

Greetings,

Oliver

Mint 14 is not yet released, the RC is for testing and not supported.

O.K., another try to show my problem / ask for help:

I created a live-usb with unetbootin / usb-creator, this time an .ISO of LM13 (Maya), ... again.

But I can't even reach the bootmenu (while booting from USB-Stick).

The PC just freeze with blinking cursor after first status checks of bios and
don't moves on to bootmenu of live-usb.

When I tried to install LM13 a few months ago, the same happend.

But I forgot where I read it, or which forum it was, where I found a solution for this problem,
because I installed "Maya" on my PC with LiveUSB-Stick.

Only remember, changing some lines of a file (maybe ISOLinux.cfg or Syslinux.cfg) on USB-Stick to get it work !?

Is there someone to help me to remember??

Thanks again, greetings,

Oliver

If you have Mint 13 installed use ImageWriter to make the usb and try again

Thanks everybody !

I tried ImageWriter but still no luck on MY computer.

On my dad's PC, the same stick worked, and also with unetbootin / usb-creator.

So it looks like my PC is the problem.

Maybe the screen resolution or another hardware issue, maybe the bios ....

I don't care anymore, so I have to use a DVD instead for MY computer.

But I still want to know, HOW, what did I do last time when I installed my PC with USB-Stick.

Again, thanks,.... maybe someone remembers what I have to change on USB- Stick
to get the bootmenu.

Greetings,

Oliver
