Hi All,
This is my first time installing Mint 14 alongside Windows 7. Installation was no brainer and really liked the flexibility that Mint installation options offer
Here is my config
Hard Drive# 1 -- Total 160 GB
/dev/sda1 Windows 7 (156GB)
/dev/sda2 /boot for Mint (2GB)
Hard Drive#2 -- Total 1TB
/dev/sdb1 NTFS (915 GB)
/dev/sdb2 / for MInt (20 GB)
/dev/sdb3 SWAP area (4GB)
/dev/sdb4 /home (60 GB)
I added /dev/sdb2 to Windows boot loader using EasyBCD and can boot into Mint fine. I see that as soon as I login to Mint the UpdateManager has notification for update of a few tens of packages. My problem is however, if I let UpdateManager a free run (select all -> install) I'm no longer be able to boot into Mint after restart, windows boot loader shows up, if I select Mint as an option it does nothing and keeps restarting the machine, leaving me no option but to select Windows and login. I'd it happen to me a couple of times and now concerned about letting Update Manager do anything
Does anybody have any suggestions regarding how can I manager either Updates or Update Manager better on Mint..?
Thanks,
