root device not specified ( linux m 14 installation )

Hi there, i was hoping to install linux mint 14 on a separate partition. I started with G parted , allocated 30 gb to an ext 2 partition i created. I booted up the linux mint installation via USB and proceeded to choose my partition to install it within.

However it came with the message ' root device not specified ' or something along those lines , I was wondering if anyone could give me some commands or any feedback at all.
