Installed Mint 14 yesterday on my Acer Aspire One netbook. I chose the same partition as my Mint 13 installation. Thought it would format this and leave me a clean install but it appeared to upgrade. Everything working fine except update manager reports as above. It gives this message:

Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

I can't see these repositories in etc/apt/sources.list but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. Should I reinstall, formatting the partition?

That would be my advice as you don't know what other things are lurking to bite.
