As you can see a complicated (for me) set up, scared witless I will screw up and lose 20 years of files etc. My DW will send me to the crapper if I get it wrong!!
I want to upgrade to Mint 14, so am requesting advice.I have /dev/sda sda1 ntfs Raid disc 1
sda2 ext 4
sda3 ext4
sad4 Linux swap
/dev/sdb as above. Raid disc 2
/dev/sdc ntfs empty 500 GB
Should I assume that sda1 and sdb1 are the Windows dual boot?
On re-installing Mint 14 will the install program indicate sda2 as the replacement for Mint 14, or do I have to select that in the partitioning area?
I am going to clone /dev/sda to /dev/sdc as security, just in case I can then restore and try again. Should I format that drive to ext4?
A relative noobie to Linux would appreciate some gentle help.
